This is the second consecutive year that Mountain Architects' and PrecisionCraft have received awards for their custom design work. Last year, the Eagle's Nest was recognized in Log Home Living's 8th Annual Design Contest as a Top 10 Design, and the "Editor's Choice".

The judges, a group of nationally renowned architects, admire the Crested Butte for its well thought out design and spaciousness. According to Danny Eagan, one of the contest judges, "one can easily access all parts of the house. In addition, there's ample use of overlapping space to make the home feel larger than it is. Bob Brotherton, another contest judge, noted that the Crested Butte is "a great floor plan for both living and entertaining guests. The expansive covered patios extend the living areas outside, and the open kitchen invites people to gather around to snack, eat or enjoy a glass of wine while still being in the entertainment area of the great room."
